Community invited to get physical this fall

Register for a Panther Pass and exclusive savings by Sept. 7

The Adult & Community Education division of the Gowanda Central School District is kicking off its fall offerings in September with a variety of physical education classes open to the public including Circuit Training, Pound, Zumba and a to-be-scheduled Yoga class. A special “Panther Pass” – which offers significant savings to those interested in sampling a variety of classes – is again available for purchase through Sept. 7, 2018.

  • Circuit Training: This all-strength program combining cardio and strength moves by quickly switching from one exercise to the next, runs Tuesdays and Thursday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. starting Sept. 11 and ending Dec. 20, 2018. It will be taught in the high school weight room by certified physical education teacher Steve Maines and costs $5 per class, $105 for 42 classes or $85 for 30 classes. Monthly payments also accepted.
  • Pound: This rocking workout using Ripstix provided by instructor Jessica, runs Mondays from 7 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. from Sept. 10 through Dec. 17, 2018, in the elementary school gym. It costs $5 per class or $50 for all 13 classes (Sept. 10, 17, 24; Oct. 1, 15, 22, 29; Nov. 5, 19, 26; Dec. 3, 10, 17). Students should bring a yoga mat, water bottle and dry sneakers.
  • Zumba: A high-energy cardio dance workout with instructor Erin Ranic, runs Wednesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. starting Sept. 12 and ending Dec. 19, 2018, in the elementary school gym for $5 per class or $45 for all 14 sessions.


The Panther Pass gives buyers access to all 57 classes of Zumba, Circuit Training and Pound from Sept. 10 through Dec. 20, 2018, at a cost of $140, which is more than 50% off what it would cost to buy the classes individually. Panther Passes are registered to the buyer and not transferable to another person.
