Free Food Distribution Update

Gowanda Central School District is pleased to announce that its participation in the distribution of free, USDA Farmers-to-Families produce boxes every week has been extended through August 2020.

Those interested should pick up on Wednesdays (July 8, 15, 22, 29, and Aug. 5, 12, and 19, 2020) at the Gowanda High bus loop starting at 8 a.m. on Wednesdays until they are all distributed or 10 a.m., whichever comes first. No early birds.

In addition, pre-cooked MEAT BOXES and DAIRY BOXES will be distributed Wednesdays on July 22 and Aug. 5 at GHS starting at 7 a.m. until they are all distributed or 10 a.m., whichever comes first. Each box will contain 20 pounds of assorted meat products and 20 pounds of assorted dairy products. The contents may vary. No early birds.

Be sure to PLEASE PRACTICE PROPER SOCIAL DISTANCING. These are FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED opportunities and there are NO pre-orders.

Please note: ALL are welcome to participate. This is not limited to families with children. Delivery is not available. Thank you the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Cornell Cooperative Extension and James Desiderio Inc. for helping to make the produce boxes possible. Thanks to JAMES C. Each produce box contains 20 pounds of assorted fruits and vegetables such as:
• Potatoes (1-5 pounds) 
• Oranges (1-4 pounds) 
• Apples (1-3 pounds) 
• Onions (1-3 pounds) 
• Green vegetables (1-3 pounds of broccoli, cabbage, peppers, etc.) 
• Carrots (1-2 pounds)
